I plan to write my informational story on how to improve yourself as an artist. I know there are plenty of creative people out and about trying to find any way they can to get better at their craft. It is a frustrating journey to become a “good” artist and many people forget to have fun in the process. I would know myself, I have been creating art since I was able to and I’ve faced the struggle firsthand. I’ve read many stories about other artists who have dealt with some discouragement along the way when trying to pursue art. Oftentimes when you see so many other people who are much better than you at something you like to do, it makes you feel pretty bad about yourself. In my piece I’d like to offer some tips on how to overcome these problems and push past any doubts. I would love for someone else who enjoys making art to read this and consider what I’ve said as helpful.

  1. Hey Kaitlyn! I love the fact that you want to get into the crux of what makes someone better at what they do. So many times we see an end result, but we don’t see what work goes into them becoming so great at what they do. Hopefully someone can benefit from your tips and become a better artist because of your story!

  2. Hey Kaitlyn! I think its dope that you are an artist. My dad is an artist as well. He’s a Florida Highwayman. He specializes in painting Florida landscapes. One thing I know my dad has done to become a better artist was to isolate himself while creating. He can only create in complete silence.

  3. Hey Kaitlyn.
As a person that enjoys makeup and creating a beautiful looks, I often look down on myself. I always think I’m not good enough to make it out in the world of beauty. Unfortunately that has held me back from following my dreams and I’v never created a look on anyones face but mine, because I’m scared of failure.

  4. Hey Kaitlyn,
I love this topic! My sister is an artist, she actually goes to blake high school for art, originally she went in for drawing but found a new passion in photography. She tells me all the time about a lot of her friends saying that they aren’t good enough, and obviously in high school you get people rubbing their talent in other peoples faces to put them down. Good luck with the story, i could definitely see it being very helpful to other aspiring artists.
